Projects revolving around type design, visual design, and creative processes. You might find experimental typefaces, calligraphic experiment, mini websites and other side project of our studio
Mouton is a type project taking inspiration from many sources. The uncial structure and unique shape of e and a defined an interesting playground for these two letters. Globally, the corner of the letters are rounded, inspired by Cooper black and its warm and almost expanding effect.
Inspired by the schwachbacher long tradition of condensed black letter, Chablay is breaking the ductus of this heavy tradition to bring some curves more on the humanist serif side while maintaining a hard vertical rhythm.
The whole experimentation of Cassis relies on the interpretation of the calligrapher gesture. Indeed, the strokes are translating the ductus in a very dynamic and obvious way.
Taking it source from the stone carving tradition, Mayday allies its inspiration with a very modern and ultra-geometric aspect.
Counter shapes and legibility are the two ingredients of this experimentation. Currently existing only in black, this project will evolve into a more complex weight system to reflect the game of letters reacting to space around as it would be stuck in a box.
SIMN is an experimental typeface made after a long cycle of exploration for the great motion designer Simeon Freymond. The font explore the limit of compression for a typeface and contrast it with a very scripty and unusual contrast
